BioStorage Technologies’ U.S. biorepository facility has received accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Biorepository Accreditation Program, a three-year, peer-based accreditation developed to drive the adoption of standards through best practices and evidence-based standards. The program, launched in 2012, is designed to ensure consistent, verifiable quality of biospecimens and biorepositories.
“Receiving this accreditation only underscores BioStorage Technologies’ foundational commitment to quality sample preservation that meets or exceeds industry standards,” said Gregory Swanberg, the company’s chief executive officer. “Properly preserved samples are critical scientific assets that hold the key to accelerating the development of targeted, personalized diagnostics and therapies that will improve patient healthcare worldwide.”
BioStorage Technologies’ facilities in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific are dedicated to the preparation, storage and cold-chain transport of human biological samples. All of its facilities maintain FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliant technology systems and adhere to GxP compliance, as well as U.S. transportation guidelines.
