Globally established pharmaceutical and life sciences track and trace provider, advanco has acquired manufacturing automation specialist Vantage Consulting Group. This acquisition expands advanco’s client portfolio to over 100 blue chip clients, making them the world’s largest independent provider of serialization solutions in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector.

The acquisition of Vantage means advanco can provide additional integrated design, implementation and validation engineering service covering the entire supply chain including everything from raw material handling to the distribution and warehouse stage.

Through its ARC platform, advanco is focused on raising sterilization standards, enabling them to meet stringent regulatory requirements in the fight against counterfeit products. ARC is designed to support a variety of production management systems and packaging-line technologies serving as the central hub form managing pharmaceutical and life sciences sterilization data.

Already used by many life sciences firms for Level 2 to Level 5 regulated track and trace requirements, the ARC platform includes ARC MES/Cockpit and ARC LES. The ARC MES/Cockpit operates as a packaging management cockpit for sterilization and aggregation operations and the ARC LES handles warehouse and packaging shop-floor operations.

Alf Goebel will remain CEO of advanco, and Vantage President John Jordon will join the advanco leadership team.

“Advanco’s acquisition of Vantage is a strategic move, designed to offer clients a sophisticated suite of products and services across the full spectrum of the supply chain. Advanco’s established ARC platform, and software expertise, is now fully bolstered by the design, implementation and validation expertise offered by the team from Vantage,” commented Goebel.

This acquisition comes as the sterilization and automation services are expected to surge in demand over the coming years. With complex pharmaceutical regulations advanco states non-pharmaceutical sectors, including food, are recognizing the importance of sterilization for their brands in order to prove to consumers they’re buying genuine products. According to advanco, as the industry 4.0 advances and evolves, there is a growing emphasis on leveraging technologies as machines to become smarter and able to fully communicate with each other.

“At a time when the global supply chain is coming under intense pressure, thanks to ongoing supply issues, a fluctuating economy and a post-Covid hangover, clients can now benefit from multiple efficiency opportunities offered by technology and automation. Furthermore, other sectors are learning from the pharma industry and are looking forward to incorporate sterilization as a key function. There are many opportunities ahead- and advanco is now perfectly positioned to help clients thrive in the coming years,” Goebel added.

“Vantage prides itself on designing and implementing complex manufacturing and automation solutions, delivered in a way that foster trust, transparency, and honesty with every client in every transaction. Advanco has an identical pedigree and shares a track record of client excellence across all that it does. We are therefore looking to the future with excitement as we continue to provide the entire supply chain with all that it needs for future success,” said President of Vantage John Jordon.
