AMRI is considering layoffs or a potential shutdown of its Budapest, Hungary operations. The move is part of AMRI’s ongoing global operations review to improve efficiency and customer service, which includes restructuring its European operations in 2Q12.

Due to a decline in demand for services at the Budapest facility, AMRI is considering closing its operations in Hungary and transitioning many of the services offered at the site into other AMRI global locations, including Singapore and Hyderabad, India. The restructuring could affect as many as 100 employees.

Additional details regarding these proposed actions are anticipated within the next month or in conjunction with year-end 2011 financial results.
