Dr. Hilton Klein has been named global vice president, science and new product introduction for the research models and services operating group at Harlan Laboratories.

Dr. Hilton Klein has been named global vice president, science and new product introduction for the research models and services operating group at Harlan Laboratories. Steve Jennings will serve as the new global vice president, marketing and sales for the research models and services operating group.

Dr. Klein has more than 30 years of experience in the area of research models in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. Previously he was vice president of quality systems and regulatory affairs and compliance at Taconic, Inc. Prior to that, he spent 23 years at Merck where his last role was as executive director of lab animal resources.He is a member of the board of trustees of AALAC International (Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care).

Mr. Jennings has more than 30 years of experience in marketing and sales as the former senior vice president, sales, marketing and business development at Albany Molecular Research, Inc. (AMRI). Previously, he led the sales team at Cyberonics, Inc., a medical device company specializing in devices that treat neurological illnesses. Prior to Cyberonics, he spent many years at Solvay Pharmaceuticals where he headed up global sales and marketing.

“Steve’s challenge will be to help us evolve the Harlan RMS value proposition to allow the company to accelerate its profitable growth in the pharmaceutical marketplace,” said said Hans Thunem, Harlan’s chief executive officer.
