Huntingdon and Harlan Becomes Envigo

New name reflects integrated management structure and broader product and service offerings

Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS) and Harlan Laboratories have merged to become Envigo. The combined organization integrates more than 80 years of operational experience. The combined company will consist of two business units: Contract Research Services (CRS) and Research Models and Services (RMS).The combined organization has 3,800 employees and sales approaching $500 million. 
 
Two core business units for RMS and CRS have been established from existing capabilities across Harlan and HLS, as well as subsidiaries of both companies. The RMS business unit provides high-quality research models, lab animal diets and bedding, and support services from 30 sites worldwide. The CRS business unit offers a comprehensive range of drug development and environmental sciences services, including safety assessment, analytical, metabolism, CMC, and regulatory consultancy from nine contract research facilities in Europe, the U.S. and the Middle East.
 
Brian Cass, chief executive officer, said, “This is a hugely exciting time for our company. We at Envigo will be united with our customers in the knowledge that the research they conduct, and the products we help them develop, have the potential to enhance life. Our new name and brand will reflect our integrated management structure and the broader product and service offerings of our combined organization.”
