Newly launched Laurus Synthesis Inc. officially opened its doors in Woburn, MA, during a grand opening ceremony that welcomed pharmaceutical and biotech executives to a new, state-of-the-art facility of more than 10,000 square feet. In addition to offices and administrative space, the site features a large portfolio of laboratory space with appropriate air and water treatment capabilities. According to Stuart Needleman, president of Laurus Synthesis Inc., “This facility is ideal for the work we plan to do on site. Even before we made any renovations, the site offered a tremendous amount of lab space for bench chemistry, with fume hoods and other basic requirements in place and ready to use. Coupled with the investments we have made in analytical and process development equipment, we are on track to deliver excellent chemistry services for our clients.”

The event was hosted by Dr. Satyanarayana Chava, founder and chief executive officer, Laurus Labs, India; Chandrakanth Chereddi, vice president, synthesis business unit, Laurus Labs, India; Stuart Needleman, president, Laurus Synthesis Inc., Woburn, MA; and Kevin Duffield, vice president operations, Woburn, MA. Approximately 50 pharmaceutical and biotech executives attended the event, learning about the company’s capabilities, taking tours of the facilities and networking with their colleagues at an afternoon reception.

Bob Coughlin, president and CEO of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MassBio), welcomed Laurus Synthesis to their Woburn location, situated near the hub and heart of the pharmaceutical and biotechnical community in the Boston area. MassBio is a not-for-profit organization that represents more than 600 biotech companies.
