Panthera Biopartners has become the first UK public or commercial clinical trial organization to become part of the Parexel Site Alliance Vaccine Network, a global network of high-performing clinical trial sites that fosters long-term collaborative relationships with select research organizations across the globe to deliver efficiencies to patients, sites and their biopharmaceutical customers. Panthera was selected to join the Site Alliance Vaccine Network due to its exceptional performance in recruiting patients across numerous studies and its strong working relationship with Parexel. Panthera, which is now the UK’s largest recruiter and runner of commercial clinical trials across its UK sites, has in the last two years been the top recruiter globally in four studies, the top recruiter in the UK on six other studies and has achieved first patient in globally or in the UK on nine studies. These are key criteria for pharma and CROs when selecting clinical trial sites to recruit patients for their studies. Chris Dodd, Panthera’s Chief Commercial Officer commented, “To be the first UK site to be selected to become part of Parexel’s Site Alliance Vaccine Network is a testament to the effort we have put in to ensure we meet or exceed our patient recruitment targets. We are delighted to be working in partnership with such a successful organization with such great site communications and stakeholder management. We look forward to working together to bring even more clinical research to the UK.” Currently, less than 10% of physicians and patients participate in clinical research, and among patients who participate, minority groups are significantly underrepresented. Site Management Organisations (SMOs) such as Panthera are focused on recruiting patients and running clinical trials and work closely in the UK with local GP practices and through targeted advertising and social media campaigns ensure that all sections of the community have the opportunity of taking part in trials and get access to the very latest medicines.
