Thermo Fisher Scientific introduced its Nicolet Apex FTIR Spectrometer, an infrared spectrometer designed to provide high quality data for a wide range of applications, including materials analysis, pharmaceutical research and environmental monitoring.

According to the company, the Nicolet Apex spectrometer offers advanced features, improved performance and enhanced analytical capabilities compared to similar commercially available solutions, with the introduction of the fast TE-MCT detector and the Thermo Scientific OMNIC Paradigm Software.

This software offers several different user interfaces as well as the ability to create new workflows. It is designed to enable users to accurately and reliably analyze organic and inorganic materials, making it a valuable tool for quality control, product development and research applications.

The Nicolet Apex replaces the current Thermo Scientific Nicolet iS20 FTIR Spectrometer and uses advanced hardware and software features – including an interferometer design, automated background correction and intuitive user interface.

Key Applications to support quick and efficient analysis include pharmaceutical, chemical, food and beverage, environmental analysis or research labs seeking high quality spectroscopic analysis.

Features/Benefits:

  • The TE-MCT detector offers faster data acquisition, higher signal-to-noise ratio, and improved data quality compared to prior models
  • The OMNIC Paradigm Software helps enable easy operation and integration into existing laboratory workflows.
  • The software provides the ability to automate workflows using a drag-and-drop workflow creator.
  • A choice of user interfaces for users with different levels of experience, and is designed to simplify data acquisition, processing, and interpretation.
  • Integrates with the Thermo Scientific OMNIC Anywhere cloud software service to allow users to access and analyze data remotely.
