UBM Live, a global events-led marketing and communications business, has appointed John van der Valk as managing director of the UBM Live Amsterdam business. Mr. van der Valk will be responsible for the management of the pharma portfolio including the company’s flagship brand CPhI Worldwide. As part of his new role, he will focus on the integration of digital media within the live events portfolio with the goal of making it easier for exhibitors to meet with international pharmaceutical companies and stay informed about the latest industry trends in the pharmaceutical market.
 
Mr. van der Valk has more than 15 years of experience within the events and media business, and joins the company from VNU. He has extensive knowledge of large-scale trade and consumer shows, digital marketing services, partner relationships and product development.
