UPS has launched UPS Temperature True Cryo in Europe for product protection and capability to ship parcels in a cryogenic environment. The service includes real-time tracking and intervention, and when combined with UPS’s risk mitigation services, will provide complete visibility for shipments throughout the supply chain journey.

This solution uses Cryoport’s cryogenic containers, which allow UPS customers to use liquid nitrogen stored in dry vapor form to keep products frozen at -150°C for 10 days while in transit or storage. When meeting minimum volume levels, shipments can also be paired with UPS Proactive Response Secure, a financial protection service that provides coverage for these time- and temperature-sensitive shipments.

“When products requiring cryopreservation are on the move, customers want peace of mind that their shipments are safeguarded, so bringing this solution to the Europe market was a logical next step as we continue to expand our best-in-class logistics services globally for the healthcare and life science industries,” said Jan Denecker, director of Healthcare Marketing & Strategy, UPS Europe. “UPS Temperature True Cryo combines innovative packaging, 24/7 monitoring and intervention capabilities for the most critical time- and temperature-sensitive specimens.”
