Peter Angus, Pharm.D., Ph.D., and Lisa Crandall, MS have joined the scientific team at Velesco Pharmaceutical Services, a CRO supporting early stage product development for pharmaceutical companies.

As the new director of analytical chemistry, Dr. Angus will be responsible for management of analytical lab operations and technical projects. He has nearly a decade of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, and has extensive experience in analytical method development and validation, cleaning verification and validation, project and lab management, and management of analytical support for clinical supplies manufacture.

Dr. Angus joined the company from Pfizer Global R&D where he spent seven years in the pharmaceutical sciences division serving as the scientific lead and technical expert for a GMP product release lab. Dr. Angus was also responsible for numerous scientific and technical projects supporting development of compounds from discovery to Phase III, which also included management responsibilities for a group of analytical scientists.

Ms. Crandall has been appointed senior analytical scientist and will focus on the development and validation of analytical methods for Velesco. She has more than seven years of experience in cGMP and cGLP environments and previously served as an analytical scientist in the pharmaceutical sciences division at Pfizer Global R&D. Ms. Crandall’s expertise includes drug development from early stage development and validation of stability-indicating methods for the release of drug substance and drug product, to later stage projects focused on the detection of residual drugs on manufacturing equipment.
