A publication that contains substance and product monographs. With few exceptions, all articles for which monographs are provided in USP-NF are legally marketed in the United States or are contained in legally marketed articles. In general the contents of USP concern drugs and drug products while the contents of NF concern excipients. USP–NF is a combination of two compendia, the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) and the National Formulary (NF). See United State Pharmacopeia.
