CDMOs and other critical vaccine manufacturers play a major part in the prevention of future pandemics, due to their essential role in the development and implementation of novel vaccine manufacturing technologies. Currently, organizations such as the “Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations” (CEPI)1 are establishing strategies to accelerate the development of potential vaccine candidates. To keep up with this increase in speed and the potentially highly diverse vaccine candidates, manufacturers need to prepare production platforms and concepts suitable for different kinds of viral vectors and vaccines.
